Firefox 4 Beta 2 for HTC Desire / Legend / Evo / Wildfire / Android

Mozilla has released Firefox 4 Beta 2 for our HTC Legend, Desire, Evo, Wildfire, Magic, Hero, Tatto, Nexus One or any Android device, with numerous improvements over the previous version. Now it’s faster, actions like panning and zooming are faster and smoother, and page load times are reduced from previous beta.

  • Page loads are now around 40% faster than in beta 1

  • Fixed problems that would cause you to get a black screen when launching the app

  • The native Android sharing system is now used when you share a link
  • Desktop notifications are now supported

  • Content crashes will no longer take down the whole browser
  • Users will now be prompted to submit crash reports when the browser crashes
  • Faster and more accurate multitouch zoom
  • Geolocation now works on Android

In the next version will add hardware acceleration to make scrolling and zooming even faster and will enable HTML5 video (OGG and WebM). Also improve browser responsiveness while Firefox Sync completes the initial sync of your data.
